Micro Epic East Lothian Fatbike Cycle Photo Dump...

All pics today by Sanny, film footage by Donald.

Sunday was a big day Fatbike ride around here with Sanny who brought Donald who wanted to try out a fatbike for the day. Sanny brought his new Surly Ice Cream Truck...

Donald rode my Pumpkin Pugsley, after a coffee we headed out on dry trails under blue skies - again!...

Through the woods on the John Muir Way and onto field grass end rigs...

Sanny loving the bigger 5" tyres on 100mm rims...

Through the former Drem Airfield and to Gullane for an ice cream...

:D

Up the hill to soak up the views over the Forth Estuary, Lammer Muir hills and Fife coastline...

The down the `First trail`...

Onto the rocks and Donald impressed with the grip of Fatbikes....

The we had a breakdown!, the free hub packed in on the Pugsley, so we used the swappable wheels and Donald then has a `Dingle speed` with two rings up front usable with having the rear mech to keep the chain tensioned...

Local rider Paul rolled up running his dog on the coast and we chatted a bit while we got the Pug rolling again..

Good old Pugsleys with swappable wheels :)

Turned out once home the pawls in the free hub were shot, and had worn out the hub shell engagement teeth!, now wheel is stripped and the spare Hope Pro 2 hub laced up, need to get another hub shell...

Onwards east while Paul left to continue his ride west and we enjoyed the ace rocks and trails to Freshwaterhaven bay...

Then another Fatbike rolled up!, Chris from Edinburgh on his new Genesis, which he was loving!, as we chatted Donald rode and re rode some rocks...

Again we continued east while Chris rode west and we took the low tide option of the flat sands around to Marine Villa..

Re tighten a loose brake then onto Scorpion trail...

Quite easy on the Big Moonlander now, and made a bit easier again with the Schwalbe tyres and Ghetto tubeless that give more grip....

Across the sands at Yellowcraig and we were soon at North Berwick, went for some chips at the Seabird Centre...

Chips scoffed we then rode up NB Law, prob cleared two thirds of the climb with stops, long time since i cleaned it-may 7 years ago!...

Great views today...

Then the fun descent!...

Back down the street and a coffee at Steampunk cafe in the blazing sunshine...

The home towards my gaff via some of the JMW again..

And detour through the woods...

Stopping to say hello to Harry :)

And back to HQ...

Sanny loving his new Surly ECR, he`s going to have a lot of fun on that big beastie...

And Donald enjoyed a days riding on the Pugsley, as he says it`s a totally different days cycling and fun too, even using it with only 2 gears!, i think we may have another covert!, `Resistance is futile to the fat side`..

The Surly Moonlander is like a new bike to ride on the Schwalbe Jumbo Jim 4.8 tyres set up Ghetto tubeless.Good neutral steering and it rolls like hell!, It will be getting a lot more use away from the coast...

Here is some film Donald shot on his Go Pro mounted on the bars Pugsley, two short sections of trail-the descent through Balgone, and the `First Trail` from Gullane Hill to the `Maggies Loup` cliffs....
